Sterna | Pau (Düsseldorf)
Biography:
STERNA | PAU is a theater and performance network from Bochum, Berlin and Dortmund. The artists produce theater for young people and adults and constantly try out new forms of new forms of participation, both in the creation process and in performance situations. They also like to work with non-human actors and transfer theater into digital spaces. The focus is primarily on questions of coexistence, relationships of all kinds and how these are shaped by technology, digitality and pop culture. Their agenda is clearly feminist.
Freischwimmen project:
In 21st Century Hauntings STERNA | PAU wants to deal with the past, present and future of hauntings and our immaterial entanglements in technology and cosmology. A trilogy will be developed that deals with ghosts, trolls, astrology and cryptocurrencies. The first part ghostlike will deal with personal and social ghosts of the present and the repetitive character of hauntings.
Statement:
FREISCHWIMMEN represented the first time that we could showcase our work at a larger venue and establish contacts with production houses in the network, as well as to get to know the people behind them. We had the opportunity to exchange ideas with artists who were at a similar point in their careers, giving us a boost in self-confidence and confidence in our abilities, as well as giving us inspiration and tools which would help us to develop as a group.
