Biography:
Laura Oppenhäuser, *1983, lives in Stuttgart and Portugal. She makes various things, including art. To realize her process-oriented performances, she invites strangers to talk to her, to lend her objects – or even themselves.
Inhibitions and shame give way to practicality. She sees her work as an entertaining exercise for all participants to simply endure uncomfortable questions, unpleasant points of view or helplessness. Her ultimate opponent is predictability.
Freischwimmen project:
As an analog influencer and autocratic angel, she will soon be working to combat loneliness and digital dumbing down. Because everything is always so heavy at the moment and she can be quite entertaining, that goes well together. Dressed above ground, she urges people to buy tickets for her next show in the biggest possible venue, whether it’s a school playground, toddler group, prison or beer tent. She shares it with, for example, teat bottles, beer mugs, exercise books and cell keys, which are known to contain everything there is to say about life.
