Fatima Moumouni (Zürich)
Biography:
Fatima Moumouni writes texts (spoken word, rap, theater, columns) and performs on stage (text performances, moderations, post-foreign late night show) and lives in Zurich. In addition to solo performances, she is a duo with Laurin Buser. In 2022, the two were awarded the Salzburger Stier. Moumouni also devises talk formats, such as her discussion series “Die Neue Unsicherheit” – a plea for more uncertainty on stage as a catalyst for progressive discourse.
Freischwimmen project:
In the spoken word piece COLD, Moumouni and Buser merge into an intersectional, synchronously spoken character consisting of a black Muslim woman and a white Jewish man who embark on a wild trip. The goal: to escape their inner detachment from the world. Dulled and sleepless, they wander through newly built apartments, glacial lakes, highways and stinking swamps – as well as through their own steaming heads. Just don’t give in to indifference! But how can you throw yourself into the world without burning up?
